I think I like being the utility player. It always has its twists and turns. Originally, this trip was supposed to be Friday 3/28 to Friday 4/11, all in Denver. Today, that changed. This morning I get on a plane and head to Denver for 2 weeks. The culmination of 18 months of work begins this weekend. We are converting the first of 5 pieces of our company to Oracle from a mainframe that's been operating since the 70s. This portion of our business does $1 Billion worth of business in a year. Running outside on the sidewalks around Lake Calhoun is much tougher than on a treadmill. There are parts of my body that hurt that I don't get from running on a treadmill indoors. These are mostly a good hurt at this point ( Read more... )

It appears that they're changing Salaried, Exempt employees to Salaried, Non-Exempt employees. What does that mean? Paid overtime. Not time and a half but half time. So, if I make $20/hour, then I get $10/hour over 40 hours.

Um, wow. I'm shocked. Let's just say that I worked about 57 hours last week so...

The sky was playing peek-a-boo with us on Saturday night. The clouds were the hands that were hiding the starry eyes. We'd look up every so often to see a beautiful star-filled sky only to have the clouds cover them up moments later. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Made a trip to White Earth Indian Reservation this weekend with faedaughter. Fairly quick trip but it was pretty cool, I must say. We saw an eagle flying over us on the highway on the way up.
