I dont like you all

I've really been very anti social as of late. I have too many little stresses that matter to no one but me. they drive me nuts and it makes me testy and easily frusterated with people. that being said people also seem to have been trying very hard to make my life hard. I never feel like im in control of my own life. people just seem to come and go ( Read more... )

Sorry you feel that way.

Furry is a granfalloon -- a false sense of camaraderie based on a single point of commonality that doesn't truly unite people. We all have this shared interest, but it's false to assume that we're going to connect with each other merely because of it. You've got to choose your friends based on who you enjoy being with, and who helps you to be a better person when you're around them ( ... )

I have to agree with many of Toob's points. Furry is a great fandom and you can meet cool people. However I find that sometimes it is nice that I have many other groups of people in different microcosms to hang with. When one group gets drama filled (any group will because we are all humans living with people of different creeds, beliefs, idiosynchrasies, etc and we dont always want to agree to disagree for some reason) I can simply dodge that and move to another one. Its quite easy ( ... )

this is exactly how I feel. I mean on one hand Ive shared alot of happy fond memories in real life with alot of these people. but then when I use LJ almost exclusively to "keep in touch" I find that I like people less and less. with out real face to face time I find that I cant keep the magic of a freindship alive. of course that could come as often as every few days, or as rare as once a year, but it dosent change the fact that online communication, particularly LJ, turns me off alot ( ... )

Friends filters are a good way to be able to post what you want and not have to worry about the drama.

Yikes! I sincerely hope I haven't contributed to these feelings as of late. You know I try to be as inobtrusive as I can.

The only thing I can think of is that you mentioned folks coming by and taking your time. Just remember when stressed or whatever, its entirely ok to say no, to folks when you wish some alone time.

nahh you havent :) the big problem I keep finding is that I feel like an asshole when I need to assert my-self for my own mental health. so rather than trying to feel less like and asshole I get angry at the people who make me make my-self feel like an ass hole. really this is alot more tounge in cheek than I think I let on.

I totally know what that feels like, as I've gone through the same thing several times here locally. It does feel at first like being kinda 'dicky' but when you need alone time, you just need it. It can realy put things like friendships into perspective.

It took me a while to realise it myself but its often needed to just say ' I'm kinda tired or just need to relax tonight, but we can hook up again another time' :)

But then after a couple days alone staring at Spanda's deflated, and yet still fat ass, I realise, 'nows a good time to get together with some company' ;)

Lj is something for your own personal use. You don't have to look at it as your reprisentation in whatever fandom you hold yourself. I use it like a journal, but more or less for just posting stupid lj quizzes or updating people on their commissions, it's nothing huge.

LJ isn't a big deal. What you type in an entry< What you actually do in life.

It's not What you type in an entry = what you actually do in life.

I guess I'm not that offended by your post because I remember what it's like to be young, confused and frustrated. I have occasionally felt "left out" from reading LJ, just because somewhere, someone else is always going to be having fun without you. However, you can be somewhat manic at times.... when you're in a good mood, things totally rock, and when you're in a bad mood, everything sucks. I realize this totally affects your perception depending upon which mood you're in ( ... )

It's just a way to start a conversation. Mostly aimed at... well... seeing how things are. I use it usually to poke you and see how you are. All because I like you and miss talking to you. I'll try to get more to the point in the future.

I say it because

A: I like to know the mood of the person I am about to start a conversation with (its not really easy to judge over an icon)
B: Because I genuinely care.

I agree. I guess some people don't feel that way though... *shrugs*
