So I thought my thesis defense was scheduled for tomorrow at 1, but I just looked at the emails I've been exchanging with the two profs before whom I'll be defending it, and one of them says the 24th, the other the 25th. Someone please provide me with a reason to not become a priest. I can't find one (and I'm not sure I want to).

So I've heard back from all the grad schools I applied to. I've been accepted* at Purdue, and waitlisted at Notre Dame, Indiana and Wisconsin. The rest were rejections. I'm turning into an old man. That is, my hair is turning gray and possibly falling out in certain places (in particular, a spot on the left side of my head, right where my forehead, head and temple merge). I've been thinking of shaving my head anyway, I think this gives me even more impetus to do so.

Stress is at an all time high. There's some issues going on with my thesis that I'm hoping I can work out in the next couple of days, but until then I have way more anxiety than I can deal with. Going to church today helped immensely, as did praying a rosary (something I've been neglecting lately). I think I'm gonna start back up with daily mass, ( Read more... )
