Not as bad as I had heard...

I really liked Tom Jane. I felt he captured Frank and was the victim of a mediocre script and mediocre directing. If he had been in this film, I think people would have had a much different opinion of him. That being said, Stevenson was definitely a good choice to replace him.

The thing I liked the most about Knight is that he didn't do what he usually does in movies, which is play Wayne Knight. He played the role completely straight and did a great job, although I wasn't fond of what happened to him at the end. I'm actually glad they didn't go with the techno angle, though.

I doubt you'll see another Punisher flick for a while. This one didn't do too well and neither did the Tom Jane version, so they may be done with the Punisher for another ten years or so. I think an HBO or Showtime series would go over a lot better.

I guess Tom Jane wasn't that bad, it was more the script and direction that made me shake my head. If he had been in this film, things may have looked much different.

Punisher on HBO...get Garth Ennis scripting...use his Punisher MAX run as a guide...wow, that would be amazing!
