So my time here in Germany is rapidly winding down and I haven't updated in 2 and a half weeks, so here's what I got. This month's course has consisted mostly of in-class conversations and loose lessons, which has been fine by me. Today was the final day of the first session of my language courses here in Munich... I passed with the equivalent of an A, so I'm happy. I'm glad that I've made it halfway through the reason I'm here, but I'll be sad to see a number of the people that were in this session leave, as only a few of us are continuing into the next session. So today I went on a daytrip to Salzburg, Austria with a number of my Goethe Institut peers... and it was one of the best days I've had in a long while! Aside from waking up at 5:15AM to catch a 7:00 train, that is, lol. The train ride there took a little under two hours, but almost the entire way you could see the Alps, which were beautiful... So I've been here in Munich for just over a week now... It's a really nice city, and the weather has improved quite a bit. I live in a very very calm, residential area and the view from my window isn't bad (isn't anything special, but it's not ugly). I have arrived in Munich (finally!!). On Saturday morning my family and I left South Carolina in my father's XC-90, and drove straight through to New Hampshire, getting there at 4 in the morning on Sunday, at which point I had to start packing and getting ready for living for 2 months in a foreign country! So today was the final full day of our week-long vacation on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. If my memory serves me correctly, this is the 14th year that my family and I have come here for vacation in the same week of May, and I still absolutely love it here.
