under $10 yes. those just say too "quirky" or "unique" to me. especially with the racist undertones. and at white upper middle ($48 for cheap ass shit) prices.
i think if you wore those shoes it would usher in a bold new era of anti-racist footwear sentiment. i would wear them but i dunno if i would pay $48 for them
i mean i think i'll have to move on and find a new pair of sneakers elsewhere because i guess watermelons can be perceived as racial even when the intention is innocuous. it sucks that such an antiquated, stupid stereotype ruins the universally luv'd taste of a Succulent Watermelon (and the universally cute expression of them).
that is so shitty/interesting, because if i saw someone wearing those, i wouldn't immediately go to OMG RACIST, i'd be like, hey that girl really likes refreshing summer fruits!
yeah me neither, i didn't even think of it as a symbol of stereotypes until it was mentioned in an above comment so now i am kind of worried that they'll be perceived as anything but cute sneakers.
yeah i really don't think they are at all but who knows, maybe someone will think they are. i feel like it's more racist to automatically associate watermelons with blacks than it is to just like watermelons.
