I drove Joanne and I to Lanark today to say farewell to Colin McRae. It was a fitting drive, down the A70, very windy and lots of crests. And this is why hundreds of people would drive to the middle of no where, stand in blistering heats for hours just to get a glimpse of their hero, someone that pushed it to the extreme.

Today, what was to start out to be an exciting day actually started on a very sad note.
