Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind that takes me away from you,
Cold is the night without your love to see me through,
Wild is the wind that blows through my heart tonight,
That tears us apart.

This is truly beautiful - John's life was one long nightmare after what happened that night. He was so lost without Mary and not knowing what happened or why she was killed. Knowing how he loved her so much was a small consolation to his boys but he kept her memory alive for them the best he could. John's son's are a great reflection of him and Mary - the tragedy of their lives a testament to their character and John was a big part of why they are such amazing young men.

I really love this...

A storm that didn’t ruffle his hair but was blowing through his very being, freezing his soul. It felt like it was trying to keep him back, away from the place where he’d fallen into the nightmare he couldn’t escape from.

Great job <333

I totally agree with you, I think losing Mary is something he never recovered from. I think if she had died in a not-supernatural way he would have been able to deal with it, he would have been able to find closure. Would have hurt just as much, but he'd have been fine after a while. And you're right again, I see so much of John in the boys that I will never believe he was such a bad dad, they would never have turned out this compassionate and caring if they didn't learn that from him, escpecially not after being raised in the family business.

Thank you so much.

Yes, so much of John's heart died with Mary.

Your writing style in this makes for a very immediate, visceral connection with John.

Thank you so much. Flow of consciousness-fics (or whatever they are called) are not really my favorite, but fot this one it worked really well. And any *good* connection with John is something I aim to get into my fics, so I'm glad that worked, too!

I couldn't get any writing done in the last days, everything just came out sorta wrong, no matter how much I worked on it. This is the first piece that I feel comfortable with so I'm very happy (and relieved) that it sounds right. Thank you!

Missouri totally surprised me, I never noticed that John didn't say a single word in the whole thing but she was reading his thoughts the whole time. That's what I love about her in this snippet. I totally want her back on the show! Thank you!

That was exactly the reason why I recognized her! That was the part, which made your story absolutely pefect. ^^
Thank YOU!

This is so sad and beautiful. I also loved the interjection of the memory of young exurberant Dean in there . . . who is also gone, turned into a hunter.
