the corn IS pretty. shucking it wasn't even a chore for me. i was absolutely delighted every time to see what lay hidden underneath the blanket of green husk... every ear i stripped naked was a glory, every one. i could smell the sweetness when i pulled down the first harsh outer leaves, and somehow, it was a pleasure, a treat, to rub the silk off the kernels, still raw, and smooth. i swear, it was almost orgasmic.

and eating it WAS.

you really know how to work the sensual adjectives, melly =)

i'm impressed with the corn. all the homegrown and organic farm corn i've ever known has been a little bit scary and weird. tasty, but not pretty.
