I also find it intriguing how Jeff says that "every man has the right to hang out with his grandson." I think that's another subtle characterisation hint that might possibly imply that Jeff is envisioning life when he's married to Annie and they have kids and grandchildren and that little line gives me feels

I didn’t see Koogler as a reference to Jeff. It struck me more as a “What if Ferris Bueller was still doing the Ferris Bueller thing as a community college student in his mid-forties” bit. The talent show seemed like a Hunger Games reference where anyone could move up, but failing meant “death” by being knocked down to a one. And Jeff’s outfit as a four… Joel has always been in good shape, but what he shooting a gladiator movie last year or something? I liked how they called it out in Basic Sandwich “Sometimes I lose track of how big I’m getting” because he’s freakin ripped in Season 5. Here’s a bit from the commentary I found hilarious

Not one of my favorites, but I liked it. As with many of the mid-to-late S5 episodes, I liked it more on re-watch. On my first time through, I was getting anxious for J/A advancement and episodes like this with no advancement were frustrating. But knowing the end of S5, I can relax on re-watch and enjoy it for what it is.
Yeah this is a great description of my feelings. I used to kind of hate this ep; now after several rewatches, I don't mind it so much and even like parts of it. But no doubt, at the time it aired, the lack of J/A was really annoying. Now I can just relax and just let it be what it be.....
I'm struck by the lack of laughs for others from these episodes, because it might be the funniest batch of the season for me. "Bondage," not so much, but "App Development" and "VCR Maintenance" are probably my picks for 2 funniest episodes of the season. Others were more poignant and overall just better, but I was delighted by the mustard face, Jeff's stand-up, the peanut rap, and everything involving Pile of Bullets

So, I know Hickey catches Jeff by surprise, but he doesn’t really put up much of a fight. I tend to think Jeff could’ve gotten away if he really wanted to. But it works out well because then Jeff gets to reprise his role from Intro to Knots where he did psychological battle with Cornwallis. I’m not sure how Shirley ends up taking down Hickey and Britta, but I guess we can chalk that up to what Troy said about her being the badass of the study group haha. Once again, I enjoyed the meta about “But we learned something. No, we didn't. We learned that sometimes there's no lesson. How is that learning?” because it’s Greendale and crazy stuff just happens

The study room conversation between Abed and Annie definitely would lead you to think Britta may be their next roommate.
So I assume if this happens, Abed is rebuilding the blanket fort and moving in there? Cause I can't see Annie and Britta sharing a room and certainly neither one is sharing a room with Abed.... It's still just a 2 bedroom apartment right? I still don't understand how they can't afford a tiny 2 bedroom place between the two of them though.....and if you need three people to afford a place, shouldn't you have a 3 bedroom-er?

They don't really say if Annie quit her job at the pharmaceutical company, but it would be hard for her to be a full time student, have a full time job and run the save Greendale committee. Abed had been doing coding, which he could still be doing, but in Repilot he hadn't paid rent in a few months, so he's not making much money. Britta is bartending, so she could be making decent money but isn't rich by any means. A 3-bedroom place would be more expensive than a 2, so you'd have to balance that out if they can't afford splitting it two ways. I have no idea what the cost of living is in Colorado. But I imagine Abed moving back out in the blanket fort is the only feasible option, though I wonder what Rachel would think of that. I think the best solution for everyone is for Britta to move into Annie's room and Annie to move in with Jeff ;-)
