I went steelhead fishing last weekend with my friends Eric and Rich.

We left the Twin Cities at 4am and were on the water by 8am.  The recent rains gave the river a much needed dose of water, which also helped trigger the steelhead to run from Lake Superior into the Brule River.

Mr. Wizard rocked it hard. He made science cool through his enthusiasm and gentle demeanor.

He used to blow things up, encourage kids to strip the electrical cord off a lamp and cook a hot dog!

He was a distinguished WWII pilot who flew 56 missions and earned multiple medals for his service.
