I spent night in rental apartment in Irkutsk and then in the morning our group met at airport at 9 am. Some people were flying in overnight, so we picked them up and loaded our car.
This day was a right out to Baikal itself, but we had a stop planned. It is Taltsy museum, which is very interesting place to see.

At midday I picked up my bag and headed over to airport. I decided to have lunch there - expensive, but less chance to get caught in traffic jam and be late.
My plane got replaced from Airbus seating 170 people to Embrair with only 76 seats. Luckily I got registered early in app, so I kept window seat.

I had about 5 hours to spend before I had to head out to airport. Thankfully there's a direct bus from station there.
So I took bus out to city and walked back.

Along the way ny phone decided to announce that it is too old and died from cold. I had power bank... and wrong cable. So I had to buy new one. Took a chance to warm up a bit.

I am finally on my way to Irkutsk to start 5 days trip around lake Baikal.

There is no good direct flight I could take, so I took overnight train to neighbor city of Novosibirsk and will fly from there. Funny, but there was faster option for same price, but it would mean 3 hours flight to Moscow and then 4 hours flight back. You can guess why I ( Read more... )

Before New Year I walked to the newest and currently most beautiful city amusement park. On a working evening there were not many people, so I managed to take some good photos.

The park itself is actually old, founded in 1981. As a child, this was my favorite park, with the old Soviet attractions Whirlwind, Surprise, Birch and swing boats. But by ( Read more... )

I spent day shopping for new dress. I hate that kind of shopping, but it is unavoidable. Worse is that I had to go on my own - sister moved for a year for her job and I am not making mother go shopping at -30 and spending whole day walking. I did send them both photos of all dresses I thought were a maybe.
