1) What's your favorite dish to bring to a summer cookout?
Cookouts aren't a thing here. But two best summer dishes are shashlik (barbeque) and okroshka (cold vegetable soup).

2) How much time have you spent outdoors this week? Not too much, because summer went on vacation this week and we got +12C to +17C weather with rains. But on Thursday ( Read more... )

How do you not have cookouts?
-Drinks, cuz they’re cheap.
-Not much, but a little bit.
-60s. I’m pregnant, so maybe cooler this summer.
-My dad & aunt taught me. My aunt lived in a trailer park that had a community pool.
-I stay inside with extra cool drinks

Different culture. Bringing your own dishes isn't really done, except something really small if you want to show off some new recipe, and even that is rare. The one who invites guests cooks everything and all cooking is done before guests arrive.

60F? Brrr. I feel cold when home temperature drops to 65F.

-Oh wow! Different than America. Here, usually the cooking is done for guests. However, people are often asked or they just willingly bring their own dishes to picnics, too. Even some people will have what we call a “Pot Luck”, where it’s a planned dinner or luncheon of some sort, where no one cooks & everyone brings their own thing.
-We don’t talk in Celsius when it comes to weather. It’s Fahrenheit here. 🙃.

if by cookouts you mean barbecues; we do these rather frequently, but everyone brings his or her own meat or fish to be cooked along with a salad. It's easy for the host - they just have to provide the fire :-)

not much this week - summer has been in recess, we've had temps of 15° C at night to 25C in the day but with a lot of rain and thunderstorms. Sweltering weather - bah !

low, now it's at 15°C because I find lower temps rather unpleasant, but too hot is unpleasant as well :-)

when I was 5 we lived near a canal. One day my dad stood in it and told my brother and me to jump in and he would catch us, so we did (and he did too) and we paddled (doggie style) back to the side. "Real" swimming came a bit later :-D

drinking lots of water - staying out of the sun - swimming - resting when it's really hot in the day and living in the mornings and the evenings

I don't know what cookout is, as we definitely don't have anything like that. :) But they sound fun.
Closest we have is when friends decide to go camping. Everyone brings some food - meat, vegetables fruits, drinks - and it is cooked over common fire and shared freely. But noone is a host.

that's exactly what we do, except that we do at someone's home, he or she's the host and provides the fire (the barbecue) and the drinks. the rest provides the food. It's indeed great fun :-D
