So my boyfriend Chris has been in Fallujah for a week now and he's pretty down. Its just set in how long he's not gonna see myself and his family for and I want to send him a super nice care package to help lift his spirits. I'm already sending pics of him and I and pics from the past few weeks, but can you guys give me some more ideas to help him ( Read more... )

Just a few ideas - some of his favorite candy/cookies; use a computer to record a message to him and burn it to CD so he can hear your voice anytime he's feeling blue and he's not able to call; send some puzzle books or something he likes to do; send him a sweet/romantic card. Hope this helps some.

like sami_rdwd said i made a dvd of me talking to him about random stuff and sent an updated one every couple of weeks just on things going on in my life, and i made one of our friends and family talking to him too.

also shutterfly.com makes these adorable flip book of pictures, they are binded and everything. he slept with his every night and accidentally washed it and it still survived !!

also maybe send some practical things he may need, i have sent any toiletries or special items he may not have access too over there,

and then honestly, a really good letter reminding him how proud and how much you love him can always be a good thing !

the dvd is cute, i might have to do something like that. what you said actually gave me a better idea to take pics of my entire day (kinda like the a day in my life comm on lj) and send it to him, idk if that would make him feel more connected to me or anything, but its worth a shot!

i like the flipbook idea too, but we only have 4 pics together. i could put a lot of me in there too, maybe some pics of places we've been on dates. thanks for the ideas, i felt like i was hitting a brick wall when i was thinking of things to do!

My hubby gets MotoMails once a week. Plus I send cookies every Monday, and a care package of other random stuff. I send a lot of favorite goodies/candy, Soduko books, favorite movies (or new movies that just came out that he hasn't sen). I even found a couple foam footballs on sale and some frisbees and mailed them.

And... as mushy as it sounds... I was throwing out an old tank top and cut a two inch piece of it and coated it in perfume. He said it was the simpliest thing, but when he's really missing me it is just comforting. (Yeah, we're dorks. What can I say?)

i think cookies are a must, just gotta find ones that wont melt cuz he loves peanut butter and chocolate. i'll have to try to do it once a week too, so he always knows he has something to look forward to. i'll have to ask him about the motomail thing too, cuz i know they get them pretty fast, but i talk to him almost daily. when he moves bases in a few months i wont tho, so that's a good idea.

have you heard from your hubby yet? you guys sound like a cute couple, and i looked at your wedding pics when we friended each other... very beautiful!

you can check the tags as well. tag your entry as "care package" or whatever, and then click it and see all the other millions of posts about care packages...

I sent my hubby a custom made throw pillow with pictures of us on it and a quote from a song we always said back and forth. Also, I send him a stuffed animal cover in my perfume that he cuddled with every night (when he got back that stuffed animal looked like it went everywhere with him). Or even a bottle of a perfume you where that he likes so he has your scent.

this is the site i got the throw pillow from, http://www.cafepress.com/mcornwallshop . She is absolutely awesome and gets things sent out really fast. you can get anything on her site custom made with your own pictures and sayings! My husband absolutely loved the pillow.

A build a bear would be cute too, I was going to send my husband one but didn't get enough time to.
