For the past several weeks I have been on the search committee of a new position on campus. It is one I considered applying for myself, until I realized that I would end up going insane and killing everyone I would have to work with. So I joined the search committee instead

oh my gosh, we are in the process of interviewing for a new director of our program. These are high level people with long successful careers behind them, and STILL, complete boobs at interviews! One of them started screaming at us across the interview table about a political issue, another spent an hour killing us with his "passion" and "thinking with his heart" discourse as a response to every question...

and another tip - if you are in the job search process, make sure you don't have websites that make you look like a whack-job. People ineveitable google their interviewees these days. One of ours had a doozy of a website.
