...and now i wonder: would it sound like a pop, a poof, or a boom?

i think my head may explode today. so if you happen to find yourself standing next to me during the next day or so, consider yourself warned.

Is something up or is this anticipatory stress about starting the new job?

At any rate, I was just reading about a stress-reducing breathing technique. Breathe in for a count of 4, hold for 7, then forcefully expel for count of 4. Repeat 7 times. Haven't tried it myself, but feel free to play guinea pig for me and let me know how effective it is. ;)

it's not really any one thing specifically -- just that there's a lot of big stuff happening all at once this week, and my brain hasn't had much downtime. hopefully the next few days (when i'm not working) will help.

i know a variation of that breathing technique -- we used to do something very similar in my aikido classes. our sensei would signal the cues for the inhale/exhale -- i never counted to see how long we inhaled/held/exhaled...but that sounds about right. and it's *incredibly* effective. at least, it was for me. thanks for reminding me!

ha! i actually think most of what's up there at the moment falls into the category of "hot air" -- i'm not sure a shopvac would be of much use. ;)

Damn, wish I'd read that warning sooner. I could have been in GRAVE DANGER! GRAVE!! Gosh, that was a narrow miss.

:)
