What's up with Carlos Ruiz?  Why did we start Coste yesterday?  It feels like Ruiz got a hit at every at bat, not to mention he tagged a few out at home and was a damn fine actor with that Arod foul tip.

Also next time there's a one run lead in the ninth I want Madson on the mound.  At least until Lidge is completely healthy again.

Shane sat in my seat, so I sat in Mark's seat, who sat in Kim's seat, who sat in Shane's seat.  Steve and Cecilia got to keep their usual seats.

But the main point is I got to sit next to Shane, which is fun.

We played broomball today - basically hockey with these odd little sticks and you're wearing sneakers on the ice instead of skates - and first we played the PSU hockey team (oops!) and then these brutes who liked to slide tackle.  One did that maneuver to me and completely took my legs out from under me, so I slammed my head on the ice.  I'll have ( Read more... )

I'm not quite sure what to think about the Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer thing.  I kind of feel like Cramer was pretty decent by being willing to appear on the show, and Stewart gave no quarter.  I don't watch CNBC or MadMoney, but I doubt that they were in cahoots with the EvilBankingEmpire to the extent that JS implied.  I don't have money in the ( Read more... )

I have a checklist of various things (elephant, fish, spider, tree, grass, fire, car, frog, slug, etc) and people are supposed to say if the item is an animal and if it is living.  My friend said that a car is an animal, but isn't alive.  And he's serious.  He's graduating from Penn State's honors college in May. 

My Dad still has a job!  Unfortunately, we still can't afford to go to the Rose Bowl, much as I'd love that.

My friend and I drove to Philadelphia to see the parade - we've been watching the Phils all year and waiting a long time for this. Anyway, this promises to be a bit long, and with pictures.
