We went back to Norfolk last weekend for mum's 65th birthday. She was pleased as anything to see us, and we had a smashing Chinese meal with her, her chap (Brian) and my brother and his girlfriend. What's more SHE HAS KITTENS. I spent most of the time I was there wandering around with two wriggly nine-week-old tabbies in my arms. Brian's daughter

they are naughty! But a living cat is more important than an ornament, I tell myself. Boycie has spent so much time sleeping on the snake tank this winter, she's halfway to being an ornament anyway...

I did offer to take one of them off her hand as she clearly doesn't need two, but she wasn't having any of it!

I'd visit my parents more often if they had kittens. Or any pets at all.
