translation of a statement about the nature of art meant to cheer on victims of the Tohoku quake

This will probably be edited as I get more help translating some of the stuff I couldn't figure out well.

There have been quite a lot of art submitted at Pixiv with things like "Hang in there, Japan!!" included in them. Some of them are great to see, but others, it feels like it's bordering on being out-right insensitive. I realized I wasn't the ( Read more... )

Is it alright if I link and/or copy-paste on deviantART groups as well?

Or is there still translations being ironed out?/you don't want me to?

I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I am currently still editing this, but you may link it right away if you feel the need! I'm hoping to fine-tune the translation, as well as make the text more readible for the eye, within the next hour or so.

I've linked it in my own dA journal, so I have no problem with you spreading around the link as well. Please feel free to urge others to link back to this, as well! All my own important journal entries are F-locked, so no problem. ^^

Thank you very much for posting this. I hope we can further spread this information out to other artists.

I, too, have felt this wish for restraint. And there have already been posts on the wank comm and the anon meme regarding this. I'm glad it's finally being addressed openly on the main comm.

Thank you very much for your translation!

*sighs* I knew this would happen.
On the day it happened, I checked the Hetalia Tag for Tegaki, hoping that please, PLEASE, people will not use the suffering of people right at the moment for inspiration.
Alas, no such luck. Though a japanese girl uploaded an appropriate pic of Japan, and I think that's something different.
She is directly affected by the events and I can see how it's a way of coping.

I really feel upset that they can't at least wait until it's over. I have a dear friend in Japan who lives in a badly affected area and... yeah.

I know their intentions are good but jfc, people |:

However, I think this is a very appropriate way to help! (artists get commissioned and the money gets donated)
I think I will apply for this as well.

Would you mind if I linked to your post?
