hey girlfrien'. don't give up hope! i believe mamastonevintage to be getting so many hits because it has been around longer. it seems like if you persistently have good stuff that people will eventually come to know you. also i think it is a good help to be consistent w/ backgrounds and models.
but, yeah, you will be a famous ebayer before long!
really?? they've been around a while? seemed to me like one day mamastone came out of the woodwork with that american flag and a stable of super-cute girls to take pictures of! but chris has been saying that, too: well, they've been around longer; you can't expect this to take off overnight!...etc. he is always right. it is the wisdom of his old age. also, m. stone v. is in los angeles. like, i think she has a shop there? (ok, so maybe i accidentally found the myspace of the m. stone v. proprietor! via google. I'M SICK, SUZANNE!) anyway, i am also going to open a shop! i want you to put things in my shop!! are you making silkscreens n' junk?
I sell mostly clothes and shoes I've bought and never worn, so a mix of vintage and new stuff.
I agree it's kind of a mystery why mamastonevintage would be so popular unless it's just that she's been selling for a long time. Her models are semi-cute but...she must just be on the radar already.
hi elissa! it has been too long since I've talked to you. I tried selling vintage clothing for a while through ebay but I didn't have all the patience for it. Picture-wise it helps to have really good lighting to make them look professional. If you set up a bright light (like those we would use in painting class) and take the picture minus the flash, they can come out really nice. I know you will do good! mwahh xo heather
yes, good pictures is a MUST! i always shoot in my hallway, which has a big-ass window and GREAT light. i've tried shooting with electric lights, but it doesn't look as good. someday i am going to buy some of those professional ones with the little umbrellas on top. i agree wholeheartedly that ebay is the biggest pain in the ass to ever exist. BUT it is better than working retail in the mall!
also: you KNOW that mamastonevintage girl!! i SAW your myspace icon on HER myspace page! she is from BOSTON. and she is my ARCH nemesis!!
yeah, she was more of a brief aquaintance when she lived in boston. Are you on mypspace because I haven't seen you there! are you doing just the ebay store or are you auctioning too? the auctions seem to get more attention and money. I have a store now and I don't make as much as I did with the auctions, even though it is more expensive with ebay fees, sometimes its worth it. ps. I miss you and we should play sometime soon. xo
