How the hell can they justify charging £75 for the audio book when the the hardback book is only about £15? There is no way a few CDs cost that much to make and surely whoever reads it on the CDs is not charging so much that they need to charge £75 per copy just to make a profit! Its ridiculous and so unfair to anyone who needs audiobooks for medical reasons :(

Exactly yeah, it seems extortionate to me as well. Fortunately Amazon do it much cheaper, but why can't they deliver on the day of release like they do the book?! :(

By the way, Stephen Fry reads them and he is absolutely excellent! :o)

Difficult question. If there are not too many people around you, you could just try to avoid reading and hearing about the harry potter release until you got your audio book. Or you could try to build something that makes it easier to read the hardcover (hehe, I don't know what I am actually thinking of...maybe some sort of thread that hangs down from the wall and that helps to carry the book??? ;-))

I hope that is gonna be a big joy for you, no matter when you will be able to read it.

*hugs*

Amazon are a disgrace!

And £75 for a CD is just plain ridiculous!

"Amazon are a disgrace!"

I thought so! :( Thanks for the back-up :)

"And £75 for a CD is just plain ridiculous!"

Agreed. I think it's about 20 hrs of listening and it is Stephen Fry reading, but a RRP of £75 is still far too much. The shops ARE selling it for that too! :(

That really sucks! It's not as though an audio-book is any harder to deliver, so there's no reason why it can't be delivered on the 21st too :-( I've ordered the hard-back, but it will take quite a while for me to read, so I'll have to haide from tv and radio til I finish! Xx
