Tenten's nervousness was slowly seeping in to Juugo's consciousness, and he could feel his heart starting to pound in response. The rumbling in his blood was easily squashed, however - he'd already gone through a "tantrum" earlier in the day, crashing into the walls of his prison to no effect, until he was well and truly exhausted. He was still feeling the strain, lacking the energy to get riled up without being seriously goaded on. (Which was probably the reason he was being allowed out this afternoon - he was likely too tired to cause any more real trouble today

"No need to be envious. It's pretty tiring," After the sixth-or-seventh hundred dart or weapon, anyway. She held out the bird and the key to him, pushing away the steely, slick feeling of nerves in her stomach. No time for that now, this wasn't a one-step-forward, three-steps-back kind of day. "You can have it, I can make another," she half-smiled. Behind her, one of the soldiers made a somewhat disapproving noise. Tenten rolled her eyes.
It was a clockwork bird, and if it was dwarfed in her hand, it was practically microscopic in his. "It's kind of defective, though. I've never heard a jaybird, so I didn't know what to make it sound like." Maybe Asuma knew where to point her. He probably wouldn't approve of her talking to Sauerkraut, though.
"Ah, tiring," he sighed. "I think exhaustion is one thing all of us here have in common." Juugo's eyes locked onto Tenten's for a fraction of a second, drinking in her unease until he physically shook off the feeling. The guards shifted their weight, moving on the balls of their feet on the off-chance that they might be needed. Then, the moment passed, and Juugo was smiling at the little girl in front of him.
"Danke, Frollein, it's beautiful." He couldn't remember the last time he'd received a gift, and he'd never been given something handmade (or however Tenten made things) that even came close to this. "Hmm, I'm not sure what sound a blue jaybird would make," he mused, holding the tiny contraption with as much care as he could manage. "But the grey ones in Germany..."
He held his free hand up to his mouth, then let out a well-practiced cawww, cawww, easily reproducing the crow-like voices of the bossy little things he remembered from his childhood. "They also, they also..." Now Juugo paused to think of the right word

Tenten nodded, filing away the information for later, to use in research for other sources. "I'll remember that, thank you." She smiled, and looked at the guards. "Anyway, I'd better get going," Tenten frowned minutely, absently in the way some of the scientists did when they were slowly being eaten by their research.
"I hope you enjoy the bird, and your walk. Be careful with it. It's delicate. Oh, and nice finally putting a face with the name." She turned around and looked at the guards, "'Scuse me." They let her out and she wiggled her fingers behind her at Juugo, but pulled another clockwork birds from the thin air. Maybe she could head off the the cafeteria, and convince the people there she needed something rich in... oh, hell, she'd just make up the name. It wasn't like they knew what she was supposed to be eating half the time, anyway.
