"Shh," Tenten warned. "Or I'm going to sit on you." The tent was getting hotter with all his moving around, and her hair was starting to stick to her face uncomfortably. If she moved her arm, she'd hit Ino, if she shifted her legs, she'd hit Naruto. Being stuck in a Hot Sammich of Hotness between two people was the definite pits ( ... )

This was definitely not a good idea. People were already watching her closely enough, making sure she wasn't going to try to overturn the whole damn place on a selfish whim. Still, she couldn't let her tent mates do this alone. If they succeeded, it would be a little message to the higher ups: Team Beta were not ones to be trifled with.

Stick me in a tent, will you? she thought, putting her hand on Tenten's shoulder to get her to settle down. "You and I can take care of the sentries, easily. That would leave Naruto and Sai to sneak in and then do-- whatever it is they do to get rid of Epsilon. As soon as the guards are out, we'll follow them and help out."

It sounded like a pretty solid plan to Ino. Simple, clean, and hopefully quietly. If she took over the body of one of the guards it would be a risk to let her own body lie vulnerable but it was a risk she would have to take. She was banking on this "mission" to be a short one. "Any objections?"

Unlike Naruto, Sai actually had been sleeping; Naruto's constant fidgeting was bringing Sai dangerously close to what would be irritation in anyone else. The sounds of everyone else starting to get moving came as a relief, as he could give up his futile efforts to keep his eyes closed.

He started his wakeup routine of counting backwards from thirty, now able to easily ignore the muffled chatter from his tentmates. That done, he sat up straight, fully awake and ready to go. He had gone to sleep earlier wearing what little equipment he would need for the raid. All there was left was to get up and go.

He glanced over to Ino in the near-darkness, mindless of the neon light flashing across his face. In lieu of a verbal reply he blinked slowly at her, then noiselessly and gracefully exited the tent.

Naruto huffed a Sai sigh and attempted to behave, but he just couldn't manage to still himself completely. He tucked his head a little awkwardly onto Tenten's shoulder - at eighteen, he still had yet to learn about 'personal space' - and pouted.

A whine of "I wanna go noooow!" was cut off as their other (dubiously) male teammate just oh-so-casually ditched out on them. Blinking in huffy surprise, Naruto pointed after Sai's creepily-silent retreat. "Hey, hey!! Where the hell is HE going?! OI! GET BACK HERE!" In a flurry of supercharged movement Naruto wrestled himself out the tentflap, catching himself before he tripped over one of the guy-ropes anchoring their cheap abode to the ground. "Damnit, you jerk! You can't just walk out like that!!"

They were going to get caught before they got anywhere near Epsilon's barracks. "Shh!" she hissed, trying to catch Naruto by the pant leg. He'd already managed to wrestle himself out and after Sai. Tenten turned to Ino and sighed at the blond.

"I guess we should make sure they don't blow our chances for soft beds, Ino." She muttered and pushed off her thin cover.

They were supposed to wait for a signal. Ino's power didn't work immediately and she had to get closer to the guards in order for this to work. It was slow moving at best and Naruto was too impatient for his own good. There was a lot of concentration that went into taking over someone's body. She wasn't fond of the idea of leaving her body behind while Tenten took over the other guard but Ino supposed that was a sacrifice she would have to make. At least no one was around to wonder why she was "sleeping" in a bush. Within a few moments she inhabited the body of the shorter guard (a rather good looking guy, which was a small consolation).

She gave a small nod to Tenten still in the bushes to show which body she was in. It wouldn't do for her Tenten to knock her out or injure her in this body, as her own body would take the damage. That was just out of the question.

"Did you hear something?" the other guard asked.

"... it's probably an animal or something," Ino replied, trying not too look panicked.

Stupid Naruto, she thought, ( ... )
