I really despise acronyms in written conversation. I get the LOL's and the WTF's as they are generally known by most people. But the ones that are obscure and aren't universally known/used just piss me off. The minute I come across an obscure acronym in a blog, I immediately stop reading and move on. I don't want to have to take any time to look up

Happy Birthday, "B"!!!
Your post makes me very glad that I posted a link to all the acronyms I used to use, in the long ago, on my profile page. *Grin* Even I can't keep them straight anymore after all this time, though.

(Also, I agree... too many acronyms get really, really silly. It was probably ten years - seriously - before I knew what tl;dr meant. After that I kind of just stopped trying.)

The difference between your acronyms and all the others is that I've known you a long time (both online and in person) and have followed your posts since day one. So all your acronyms were explained when used the first couple of times and I never had to wonder what the heck you were talking about (also, you had the helpful acronym dictionary). Also, you have a specific friends list of people who know you and who are invested in you even if they can't understand everything.
When you post to a public community, not everyone is going to understand the acronyms you use and aren't necessarily invested in your life enough to take the time to look it up. I want reading to be leisure, not work!!
And I still don't know what tl;dr means. Ha!!

I will tell you what it means! "Too long; didn't read." Which is not only an annoying acronym, but is rude! People use it after long posts or comments and they might as well say, "Yeah I can't be bothered to read what YOU had to say, I just want to get my all-important comment in here..."
So my guess was wrong, then? Hee!

I guess rude is in when it comes to the internet. Maybe I should reply with au;dbf (acronym used, didn't bother finishing).
I emailed you the meaning of IAGTGPTM.
