Thursday night we got hit by the big wind storm blowing like a freight train right outside our house. At 11 pm power went out. Hey Y'all, wanted to give a headsup that there's something going around. Everyone in my group has got it. If your stomach starts aching and you feel lousy, go home immediately. If you're like us you'll be doing a spectacular imitation of Vesuvius very shortly. Drink plenty of liquids too, because it dehydrates the heck out of you.

Mom has been discharged from Concord Hospital. She's going into a nursing home until she's stronger. She's back in Lancaster where all her sister's and my sister Val can shower her with attention.

Mom's off the ventilator and breathing on her own. I won't be able to see her until Mondayish because of the storm and such but it's great news!

So I go in last night (Dec 29th). The family is going to a wrestling event at the Verizon Wireless in Manchester, but I wanted to spend an hour or so with Mom before we go over. I go in her room and she's awake and alert. I told her everything that is going on with us and such and we have a nice chat; well I'm doing all the talking, she just nods ( Read more... )

Haven't posted an update in a while and I wanted to let people know what's going on. She's still in Concord Hospital and still on the ventilator. They had been lowering her vent settings steadily and she'd been breathing on her own more and more. Christmas Eve she breathed on her own for about 6 hours but I think she really overdid it. My Mom is in the hospital. They think it's her gallbladder. She might need surgery and will possibly be at Hanover because she's on oxygen. Will update when I know more.

Yesterday 58 kids called out of school.  (our school is not a very large one, maybe 300 kids total).  Seems there are several things going around and none of it good.  Keith's out too. He's running a fever, has diarrhea, nausea, a sore throat, a bad cough and this morning he's told me he's had trouble breathing.  We're calling his Dr. this morning ( Read more... )
