From what i know, Ipods come with software or you download it, i'm not sure. Ipods use a specific file format, i don't think you can just load mp3 files directly on it but you can use the ipod software to process it and change it into the correct format. You can download music from itunes as well (and video), not sure if you have to buy a subscription or if it comes as part of the cost of the player. You may get a set number of free tunes every month or something iwth a subscription and pay for the ones over that. Again, i'm not sure. I would think the clones would be better, because there's no faffing around converting music but you have to then search for music on Limewire or some such to download, or rip your cds yourself.
