Rory and Kyah are both out of coat in these pictures.  Rory is so out of coat that you can see her tail even when she's not wagging it.  Kyah has longer front feathers than this picture shows.

Rory had an excellent time on sheep over the weekend.  She was bold ("she's not afraid of much, is she?").  She has strong, upright eye and managed to get the sheep pinned on side of the round pen with it.  Then she got to show how responsive she is to me by looking at me for direction (since a few sharp barks had not overcome the power of her eye ( Read more... )

Rory goes on sheep with her admirer Erylon.  Judi maybe gets to help Erylon castrate sheep.  Who will have more fun?  Whose instincts are likely to be more useful to her?  Thank Dog I've never taught Rory how to use the camera.  I can take pictures of her experience, if I'm not in the pen with her.

Kyah continues to improve rapidly.  She now can get up to her feet by herself most of the time (started Friday morning when I found her standing in her ex-pen calmly getting a drink) and can often walk without the sling under her belly.  I even took off the leash for a few minutes today ( Read more... )

I'm grateful she had her stroke while I was home.  I'd only been home for an hour, and I don't even think about what Rory's reaction might have been to Kyah thrashing around panicked because she couldn't figure out which way was up, let alone how to get up.  Heck, it was bad enough for Rory to have Kyah thrashing and both Kyah and me close to panic ( Read more... )

I picked up Kyah at Columbia River Vet Specialists this afternoon.  She is so funny.  She can't stand on her own.  She can't walk on her own, and it's a lurch to the left when she tries to walk while supported.  We lurch out to the car where I'm going to load her in the back via the tailgate.  She hasn't been able to do this jump on her own for a ( Read more... )
