Bath Day 1

The AA routeplanner I printed out to guide me to Bath said that the journey would take just over four hours, I thought that this seemed a little over optimistic, but a combination of clear roads and good weather meant that it was indeed the case, although I did add on half an hour for a lunch break. Bath is rubbish for shopping. Around Christmas they bus loads of tourists in for Christmas shopping trips, and when I'm not getting annoyed at them for walking very slowly and getting in the way when I need to go somewhere, I usually feel sorry for them for coming to shop in such a rubbish city.

I quite like the shops in Bath, but then I'm used to the ones in York, which aren't brilliant either - and we get busloads of tourists too. I'm not a huge shopper, I just like to wander round.

It sounds as if you had a really nice trip, and the pictures are gorgeous. The next time I go to Bath, I fully intend to be a tourist with a captiat T in terms of visiting places.
