Okay so I've decided to go with black tights... and as the last minute charlie that I am, I found the most ah-dorable black flats for $25. In addition to gathering pretty much everything I need, I decided to make all the stuff that I can't find to purchase anywhere in time. Although I still need a messanger bag. ugh. Well... Everything is HERE.

How did you go about making the quil pen? I've wanted to make one but every time I try the feather never covers the pen properly and it looks like rubbish.
I've heard you can dye wigs with sharpie. And here's a link I found http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=57484 Maybe that will help.
And yay! Marauders Map for the win. I will be making one.. at some point.. when I stop being lazy.. erm.. yeah. :-P

lol... well for the quill I bought a large feather with a hallow inside... broke apart a pen so that it was only the ink thing, and cut that to fit into the hole in the feather. vwalla! Quill. I bought more feathers though and guled them to the one feather. I like my quills fluffy. lol.
Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I wish you the best of luck with your Marauders map!

That sounds like it could work. But wouldn't the ink leak if you it up?
I'll let you know how it turns out. ^_^

well to keep the ink from leaking after I cut it I took a hot glue gun and put a blob of glue on the end of the pen thing so that it doesn't leak... it seems to be working fine. ;)

RIT dye also works for dying synthetic wigs!

If the rit-dye above trick doesn't work, try getting some orange and red sharpies and going to town.

woo hoo, maybe i can use my knowledge as a cosmetology student to help someone!

synthetic wigs aren't dye-able, as far as i know...you can't make any changes really, chemical or physical, because it doesn't have the properties of real hair. i'm going to look into this though, since a lot of people seem to be having this issue.

as for dyeing your boyfriend's hair, what did you use? for non-permanent stuff, i'd recommend either Jazzing, which you can get at most beauty supply stores like Sally's, or L'Oreal Color Pulse (comes in black too) which is a drugstore thing but, ironically, harder to find (I think they may have discontinued it - I used to love the red one!) Both of these would be considered temporary/demi-permanent colours - they don't lift any colour out of the hair, just deposit colour into/onto it, so it lasts anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. They also smell much better than your average dye. Good luck!
