So I haven't posted nearly enough, but I've been distracted. Sure I get on LJ everyday to catch up with all your posts, but I don't ever write my own. So, here I am procrastinating on homework in my office writing a short...hopefully short...entry ( Read more... )

I don't have anything useful to offer on the cloak issue, but I am very happy to hear about your life (though the pseudo-depression is a not so good).

Thanks! Yeah the pseudo-depression stuff comes and goes...I think it is partly a general feeling that I just want to be done with Kirksville and School. :) I'll survive. :)

Speaking of pseudo-depression.....I might stop by after I get out of class tonight around 8:30 if that is alright. Maybe we could play some DDR?

sure, i'm not sure if i'll be back from my night class yet, but Harker did say she'd try to get us done by 8:30 each week instead of 9:20....long ass class
If I'm not here...stick around a little (10 mins or so) to see if I make it back...otherwise...:(

1.) So sorry to hear about the pseudo-depression. Hope it's just the winter doldrums (I get them every year), and that it goes with the spring ( ... )

The pattern I got was Simplicity #5794 although Meredith hasn't actually seen it yet (I keep forgetting to take it over when I go). The pattern says 5 7/8 for 60" but it will probably take less for some. Due to Hannah being short and all :). Correct me if I am wrong Meredith, but they are for outside picture taking and such (I would like to be at least semi warm). Oh and I like pattern C.

yes they are for outside picture taking, though hopefully there won't be a lot of it. IT is more that I think they're pretty. :)

This is the SAME pattern I made mine out of (I used view B--same except for the hood). Good call! It's a very easy pattern, and I know it hangs well, too.

As far as fabrics, then, I would strongly suggest velveteen (and not just because it's the same thing I used). It's warm enough that you should be comfortable outside in a St. Louis January, but we could flat-line it under the lining proper for more warmth, if desired (Dharma Trading Co. has some good deals on undyed cloth of various weights and such, great for interlining--we could do flannel or wool, though mine is unlined and I think it's warm enough, but then, I'm usually wearing something warmer that a formal underneath!) Here's some suggestions:

Hancock Fabric has a good deal on velveteen, though they only have it in 6 colors, but that might still work ( ... )
