Ok, so today my mom scheduled umpteen things to all happen at once, so I was forced to get up at the ungodly hour of 7am on my day off. So I'm thinking about giving up something for Lent, not because I'm a good Catholic by any stretch of the imagination, but because I think it would be an interesting test of willpower. So there's a program out at Shaw Nature Reserve that I'm interested in attending, but I'd like to find someone to go with. It on March 27, from 9am-12pm, but it has a note about lunch, so I think it might go slightly past that. Anyway, it's about wild edible plants in Missouri, and I think it looks awesome! I had a really great day today: Got up, went shopping with Mom (my quest for galoshes continues, but I tried on a pair I liked today, so maybe I'll order them online in something that's NOT neon pink), bought a rain barrel for my yard, and found avocados on sale, so I now have three of them in my fridge. --had blueberry waffles for breakfast
--got cool swag from ALA's Midwinter Conference, via my boss, who actually went
--one item of the cool swag was an advance reader copy of THE hot vampire novel of 2010

SNOW DAY! Woot!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. It's really kind of sad. My life hasn't had much going on, though, so what can I say?

Anyway, this week I got a book at the library on Japanese cooking. It's Japanese Hot Pots by Tadashi Ono and Harris Salat. It's quite good, and gives me lots of ideas for things to make now that the cold weather has set in ( Read more... )

My doctor has me in physical therapy for my wrist (which is actually my shoulder. I have thoracic outlet syndrome, which manifests in my wrist). It's going well, and my wrist has stopped hurting, but my shoulder hurts all the time ( Read more... )
