Everyone else is asleep in the house. It's quiet here, like being in the country where all you can hear is the crickets and night animals talking to one another. I tried to sleep a little earlier, being exhausted from our busy week here in Toronto, but I ended up only staring at the ceiling, thinking ( Read more... )

God, I hate that you're lonely. Where are you?

In Toronto with John. We're staying with some of his friends, and everything is great with us. But you know how it is sometimes when there is still that little pang no matter what is happening when you miss someone? It's that person that I'm lonely about.

You should go to the park and play on the swings. That never fails to put me in a blissfully carefree mood. Not to mention the young factor.

I've not been to a park in a long while. I think I'll go there this afternoon. *smiles* Thank you for the suggestion.

Hello, you.

I know what you mean, Mirry. I've a few of those little empty places in my heart. I got lucky though, and even though they're still there, the love I have now fills my heart so much that they're compressed to naught but a memory. I hope that you'll find the security and contentment that I have.

38?? Dear God, woman, in two years you'll be able to join Must_Be_Old! We'll have your fur-lined diaper waiting for you. Inside joke there...
There's no set rule about having to grow up when you age. I'm still making snow angels and riding roller coasters. When you're 98 I'll be... 104. I'll buy you a cotton candy. You can eat that with no teeth, eh?
Sending you roses for your big day. Thirty-eight of them, just because I can.
So there.

You make a place for someone in your life. Rearrange your heart and carve out a little spot where you rest them. When they're gone, the space doesn't fill back up. It still gapes out at you, their name is still scrawled across it. I know that feeling all too well.

Age is something I try not to think about, but can still feel creeping up on me. If it's any consolation, to me you still bubble up with youthful energy. I can't picture you ever being old and bitter. One day your desire will become reality, you'll be living your life just as fully in your later years.

I understand that empty place, 'Randa. You of all people know how I hurt over what was lost, how that ache never really goes away no matter how much you love another, or how you feel when their arms hold you tight. We'll get through this together, darlin'. Cry together, and then move on with each other, for each other.

Maybe go do DisneyWorld and see how many coasters we can tame?

I love you, m'lady.
