Because of all the identity theft issues in the US, and numerous hacker crimes where they steal card info, there will always be a certain percentage of people here (America) that use cash or checks.
I predict Sweden will get that way too, the more internet crime there is.

i've know of some branches of banks that don't carry cash, but it's usually do to either security issues or lack of space for a vault. but since i don't have much money anyway right now, i just try to pay in cash as much as possible...

It's much easier keeping track of how much one has to spend that way too.

Here they didn't seem inclined to use that "safety" argument at all. But the one remaining bank that does carry cash, is rejoicing. They're getting some new customers alright.
