I waited until my son was safely in school and my husband at work to leave the house. Yes,I was scared but worry for my son was stronger than my fear. Wow, I love this! Is this based in Voodoo? Santeria? It all seems like an amazing blend of religion and folklore.

I used our folklore as a base - just made a few changes. I grew up hearing stories about Papa Bois/Daddy Bouchon and douens - the part about leaving tobacco and cigarettes is something a hunter told me he did do before asking him to let him kill an animal. :)
