The big black beauty pulled up in the driveway, music all but busting down the doors of his vehicle. He hadn't had any idea where he was taking Luke at first, but even the park seemed to excite the kid.

The brilliant idea had hit on the way to Kurenai's house and God knows he could dig himself a big grave for the thought, but it made him giggle; especially with the new found information of Luke's lack of physical activity with women. Before he'd left for New York five years ago he was sure that that fake doll would have brought some interest, but the kid still spent his time indoors.

Honking the horn Kankuro waited, tapping his hands against the driver's wheel impatiently. He might tear himself a new hole in his ear if this ended badly, Kurenai and Momo both would see to it. Kankuro himself hadn't been to a strip club since he and Lust hooked up and that was at least a few years ago. He was more comfortable with himself and his relationship now that he didn't need to do such things often---if at all. Momo kept him plenty entertained ( ... )

Kankuro's car baffled L. It was enormous, for a car... he watched it pull into the driveway, the bass of Kank's music seemed to test whatever was holding the car together.

Had L known that his virginity was on Kankuro's mind, he might have turned, gone back upstairs, and locked the door to his room until he heard the garage door that announced that Kurenai was home. As it was, he didn't think he had anything really terrible to fear. It had been several years since the roller coaster incident, after all...

Trepidatiously, he left the house, being sure to close the garage door behind him. He went automatically to the back seat of Kankuro's car, since riding up front made him nervous. "Where are we going?" he asked, before even saying hello.

Kankuro's brow arched watching Luke from rear view mirror as he climbed into the back seat. It had completely slipped his mind that he didn't usually get in the front, and even if it hadn't it still would have struck him as odd.

"You know the front usually has enough to seat two," he said starring at the dark-haired boy.

Taking his foot off the break and backing the monster truck out of the driveway, Kankuro got an almost sadistic grin on his face. "I'll leave the suspense..." he said with a giggle finding that the element of surprise was always more entertaining when it came to Luke.

"I know," L said, tucking his knees up close to his chest the way he usually did. "I just feel better in back. Somehow, being up front reminds me of..." he paused significantly, "roller coasters."

They drove in relative silence, making only occasional small talk. L was suspicious of the fact that Kankuro was unusually quiet. He definitely had something planned.

"Enola Gay and the Little Boys," he said, staring at the bright neon sign across the street from where Kankuro had parked. "Ah. A World War II reference."
