Forty-Sixth Summons: Flowers

 [Ai is back to normal, finally. She isn't human anymore. And it's a relief. You can find Ai in a few places today, just being herself.

A. The street is on fire.  ....okay no, it's not real fire and it's not the road. But a car parked on the street looks very much like it is on fire. Ai is practising her illusions.

B. If you're walking by 1451

[It isn't safe to be out so late. All sorts of awful things come out this time of night. Evil little boys, for instance. There's one watching her right now from high in a tree, feet dangling over the side of a large branch.]

[It doesn't sound quite as bad as what he was imagining. At least not as limiting as Mayfield. Slugger leans forward on the limb and then back, trying to get the branch to rock. After a few tries, it begins to sway. Now that he's got more than half of his powers back, he's in a playful mood.]

[She'd much rather be the Hell Girl then trapped here. In fact being stuck here made her realize that there were much worse fates in the world. She looks over at him.]

Alright.

Tag? You can try to kill me.

[Just a suggestion. He's been trying to think of interesting ways to "commit suicide" as a means of testing his latest regain.]

[miss_enma_ai]

...You want me to try and kill you?

[She's...not really supposed to do that.

Then again, she's not really supposed to talk to anyone or have emotions.]

[strike_you_out]

Sure. If you can't catch me.

[Sounds like consent has been given. He reaches to tap her arm with a finger, grinning.]

Tag.

[miss_enma_ai]

[Alright then. Well let's go then. Ai will nod.]

[strike_you_out]

[Slugger drops out of the tree, vanishing before he hits the ground. He'll reappear not far down the street perched on a lamppost.]

[miss_enma_ai]

[And Ai is gone.

Well no. But she's gone from the tree.

Oh wait she's on the sidewalk bellow you.

Well she could teleport up there. Or.

Remember the first time they met? It involved dark energy being hurled at you Slugger.

It's back.]

[strike_you_out]

[He recalls that day quite clearly. In fact, just the sight of the dark miasma forming around her hand gets a flinch out of him even before she starts throwing it. Once again, Slugger vanishes to narrowly avoid a direct hit...

...and reappears on a post across the street.]

[Ai is now standing on the post he just vacated. The energy is still in her hands as she stands there, watching him carefully.

And then she throws another ball of black energy towards him, and as it goes, another to the next pole in case he tries to appear there next.]

[It pans out perfectly. Just when Slugger thinks he's escaping the first blast, he reappears directly in front of the second. He's hit square in the chest and is sent flying backwards some distance to the ground below. There he'll lie while the massive pit in his chest begins to fill itself in...]

[Ai is standing next to him as this happens. Fire in her hand. Oh hey, so you can heal? That makes sense. She'll put the fire out and go to tag your shoulder.]

Tag.

[strike_you_out]

[Slugger lies there on his back grinning up at her while his chest returns to its normal shape. The blast hurt like hell when it happened but at the same time, it was sort of exhilarating. Sitting up, he realizes that his shirt has retained the damage and there's a large hole burnt through it. On both sides.

Well, looks like he's It. He knows that simply reaching over to tag her isn't going to work this time, but that doesn't stop him from trying.]

[Nope she's gone. Except she's just standing at the end of the street. Hey there.]

[strike_you_out]

[On his feet again, he stands watching her, ball bat on his shoulder. It looks, for the moment, like the game of tag has evolved into a staring match...

Until Slugger vanishes. He's behind her in an instant reaching to make the tag.]
