Master of the Senate by Robert Caro.

I spent my summer in DC and the second I got there my cousin (who lives in the city and let me sleep on her couch for free) told me I had to read this book. I didn't think about it again until all of us interns were in Senator McCain's office to take a picture with him, and in the five minutes that we had after the picture, he picked this book up off of his desk and said that if we were to ever read anything, it should be this book.

Granted, it's all about LBJ and his time in the Senate, and you might have to be as crazy as I am b/c it is a very large book, but so far, it is marvelous.

Wait. Who even suggested that "Twilight" was non-fiction?

I read David McCullough's "John Adams" after I saw the HBO miniseries with Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney which was AMAZING.
