first thought:
do it.

the armed forces don't create mindless drones - they take mindless drones and train them. those of us who go in with a brain are in no danger of that at all.

think it over - at worst, you come out of the military with money for college. oh wait.. at worst, you get killed. sorry.

just make sure it's the air force or navy - NOT the army or marines.

theres nothing wrong with the marines... look how i turned out. oh yeah, nevermind.

anyway leara, i'd tell you to do it... because despite any branch you went into, the air force being a good one, it would be good for you.

the drawback i will throw at you though, is that we live in a very tempermental world right now... and to make it worse, your president is a psychopath on a mission of global genocide.

yeah, i said YOUR president. i didnt vote for the motherfucker... i voted for that midget that used to wear the alien suit in the 80's sitcom "alf".

otherwise, do it.

Always words of wisdom from Fuat. I do worry about being immediately shipped out, and that's why I'm taking my time to make this decision.

Don't rip on Dubya, either, fool.

My friend was the most irresponsible, drug addicted, less motivated person ever, and joined the navy and became all responsible and proper and everything...but when boot camp was over and he was shipped out, he became the same person again because he had nobody watching over him telling him what to do all the time. He ended up AWOL and got a dishonorable discharge. So if you're going because you think it's going to fix you, then I would rethink it. Only you can fix you, but you really have to want to in order to have motivation. It sucks. If you're going more as personal enrichment (i.e. to pay for school) then that's cool.

The air force is harder to get into...and has the fewest openings usually. It would definitely be the best though. I agree that the army or marines would be the worst. I would avoid those.

You are right, only me can fix me, but I can seriously only see good things coming out of it.

It's a long story and I don't really want to get into it. Maybe if we run into each other at a show or something.

And I should have known that you would say no to me joining. GO HUG A TREE!
I"m just joking, my dear.
