fucking centrelink has my birthdate wrong so i can't access my account and have to go into the office to show them my passport. how ridiculous, i've had youth allowance for more than 2 years now.

lol. it's an australian thing.

youth allowance is government welfare for students. except to get youth allowance from the government, you have to prove that you've earnt over $17,000 over 18 months. then you can get like $200 a fortnight. they stuff up soooooo much, and i can't believe the amount of shit that i've gone through to get it arggggh it's ridiculous!

noooo.... fortnight=2 weeks.

its great, but the amount you get also depends on how much you earn per week (it reduces if you earn over a certain amount) and if you live out of home (you get more if you live away from home).

In about June this year, they sent me a message telling me I was too old for youth allowance and then cut me off. Apparently, they thought I was 26.
