I have three friends who recently broke up long term relationships (two years or over). All of them knew the partner in question would not fight for them.

And they didn't.

What if you thought "What is the point in me putting all the effort into keeping this alive?? I'm killing myself emotionally and physically for someone who wouldn't do the same for me if it came down to the harsh reality."

Have you been reading my mind Gem? okay I'm freaking out now! lol, look on the bright side, eventually these people will heal and be able to go on to have new relationships in which they will not compromise themselves.

I hope to see you saturday! xoxo

It's not all negative, and often it's for the best. Some relationships just aren't meant to be - no matter how much one might think, or hope, that it should be that way. It's better to realise that and have the chance to move on, than stay miserable in a dysfunctional relationship.
