LOL I don't believe anyone has really put a figure on how many we need - the text used to say we need 750,000 to stop it, but that was bull. There are - supposedly - around 25,000,000 people "online" in the UK. If we say that only half of that number are "active" (quite a generous estimate, I think) then that's 12.5 million. 1 million of 12.5 million is 8% of the "online population" - who are a fair representation of the population at large, I would say. Therefore it's fair to suggest that 8% of the population would actively state that they do not want this to happen. It's a lot of people.
