What a marvelous, follow-up chapter!!! I liked it even more than the first chapter, which says a fricking lot! So many beautiful moments and lines, but I really enjoyed this bit:

John looked pensive for a moment. Paul could see the gears cranking in John’s head. A bitter smile crossed his face.

“You and I are the same now, eh?”

“How do you mean?” Paul asked, confused.

“I’m the kid with no mum now, too.” John looked even bitterer. “Guess I always was anyway.”

Lovely and quite perfect. Delighted to hear that there are more chapters coming. ;)

I truelly loved this. I loved how a simple exchange over the way the toast is cut, progressed to them sweetly hugging and needing each other. Can't wait to see where this goes. I've been LJ stalking. Going to that link periodically to see if it was fixed, lol. I just got to read that chapter 3. Bravo
