So... Skins is back. I'm not sure what to think. All of the storylines of the second generation feel forced, but I still do like most of the characters. This episode surprised me, slightly. I thought I'd hate it more than I did, which isn't too great because I hated S3. This cast just doesn't have the same...amazing qualities as the first and I miss them to bits, but it wasn't a *horrible* episode. I sort of ship cook/naomi so i was happy. Kind of.

I agree with your review - I want to like it and keep trying and kinda do and kinda don't... blah blah. It's just kind of... blah. And Thomas just seems not to fit in to the group story. Although maybe that's intentional. I also agree with you about the cliched love triangle sapping Effy's character. They should have kept her silent - that would have made her incredibly interesting because you'd only have her actions to interpret.

I loled a few times, mostly at this: "She tells him they're all skipping next period to go get drunk and looks astonished that he might actually want to work on his education rather than pissing his life away. She tries to feel him up, but he's not having any of that. She looks like someone just killed her puppy. Oh, the horror of your boyfriend not wanting to fuck you in a pretty much open classroom after he had a bad day."

im kind of apathetic about last series and this (even though this season just started). it lacks a lot of things from s1. im such a big fan of the 1st generation, that i just dont care too much about these characters. really.

i have a question, just cuz i havent watched ep1 yet, and i feel like im missing out on something. how has effy been away? did she go somewhere during somewhere which made everyone miss her?
