I'll tell you though, the older I get, I realize that I would be a very wealthy person if I had a dollar for the number of times that I've experienced scenarios that are similar to what you described above. People are just awkward about getting close and staying close, but the one consolation I can give is that people are always changing and that whatever negative you are experiencing now with this person probably won't last. Of course the flip side of that is that most positive scenarios with people don't last either, eh..... Anyways, that is my pint induced advice from England, take it as you will......
