Epistle 13

Mar 11, 2008 08:13

What a fascinating day. I should say that I am hearing things I never thought I would hear from some of the refined ladies of the City.

A gentleman of past acquaintance once said, "Women are meant to be loved, not understood." Perhaps. But perhaps not. Today does seem to put the lie to his words.

People are acting differently?

[ooc: affected, but mostly she does that anyway, so it's not a huge change ~_~]

Such has been my observation. On my morning walk, for instance, I heard such things. Petty things, important things... tsk tsk... naughty things.

I think you're rather turned on.

Such candor in a gender usually known and trained in dissembling is quite intriguing. I think it would grow tedious with time, but if it is for but a day, I shall enjoy the change.

Who was it that said that?

Lord Henry Wotten.

[ooc: Because I can and will attribute all sorts of Oscar Wilde quotes to Henry. XD ]

It's a nice sentiment, I suppose? But... Wouldn't you want to understand the person you loved?

[ooc; like she knows any better~]

Certainly not! Let there be mystery and endless fascination, lest love descend into repetition and the death of boredom.

Then you will find today troubling, won't you?

Oh god. Do I even want to know?

Your definition of fascinating must be a lot different from mine.

And that little quote? God, you're so full of it.

missedyourheart March 11 2008, 18:43:02 UTC
You don't want to be understood.

glock30 March 11 2008, 18:47:10 UTC
It's not my fault men can't understand anything period.

Would you claim to understand men better than we understand ourselves?

You appear to be enjoying yourself.

[ooc: Affected...and hating every minute of it...]

A day is enough. I think it would grow tiring and tiresome for all beyond that.

akaladybasene March 11 2008, 19:28:51 UTC
I already find it to be tiresome. Being unable to control what I say is far from wonderful.

Can you control your use of the network?
