I'm glad you had such a wonderful day :o)

Can you take your cat between NZ and Australia without too much problem, or is there a quarantine hassle? Would be nice to see you united with your cat again :o)

Oh, no. He's way too old to handle the stress, anyway. He's a falling-apart, ancient battleaxe. Last winter he lived in a box full of my old clothes the entire season - this year his arthritis has progressed so much he can't even jump up into the box and mum's had to put it on its side.

Aww poor kitty kat ... I remember when I was growing up, we had an old dog. And when my brother brought his new girlfriend around, he barked at her very loudly.

Mum put her at ease: "Don't worry - if he bit you, his teeth would fall out" :D

Ahahah. That's so cute. :)
Something about pets that's so unique. I've had Pepper since I was a girl, and he was a kitten - and then he grew into our rough, tough mouser/fighter.. and suddenly to my mind he was older than me - an adult cat. Now he's in his dotage and I think of him as like a beloved grandparent I ought to look after. I've had him since I was nine or ten, so he's about thirteen or fourteen.
