Is it tacky to wear my hair twisted up with chopsticks to a Chinese restaurant?

** Happy birthday to my mother! ** I intend to scribble up a set of vouchers for housework to be completed by me without the slightest bit of grumbling, given how broke and whatnot I am. And it's time to start nagging her about buying her "mother of the groom" outfit ( Read more... )

Mary Poppins? you're getting work as a Nanny?

Dude you could give your mum a voucher to get a gift off you after you've made some money... saves you doing housework :P

So you're all healthy now? cool when is our date, you promised remember >;]

Actually, no. Mary Poppins is entirely unrelated. Just a quote I had stuck in my head. ;)

Well, I could give her a proper present voucher too.. She's a bit of a pain to buy for, so I might surprise her with something down the road. Like a contribution so her wedding outfit doesn't end up coming from K-Mart! She's terrible for not wanting to spend much money.

Okay, healthy now! My first pay day is a week tomorrow and I'm broke 'til then, so unless you want a "let's walk around the park in Nollamara which is more like an oval" date.. ;p

No! Not at all tacky, unless:

a) you intended to take them out of your hair to eat your meal at the table
b) they are pre-loved chopsticks from a previous meal

Congrats on getting a job - that was quick! :o)

Employment? Eeee, congratulations! :D

As for your question: I, personally, would not think it's tacky to do that, but bear in mind that I am not a Chinese restaurant owner ;) so you may wish to "leave it out when in doubt" simply as a matter of discretion.

chopsticks in the hair are only tacky if you are gonna pull them out of your hair and swish your hair around like a pantene advertisement.
