So after what feels like years of preparing, collecting, packing and then unpacking an array of crap, I've finally finished moving into my swanky dorm room.
Yeah, I was really lucky to get these rooms! The last time I stayed in a college dorm, it was the size of a closet and there was a communal bathroom shared by everyone who lived on the floor. It was kind of like a prison setup. D:
Yeah, I forgot all about the lovely cinderblock walls and institutional flooring. But those could be covered by copious amounts of something. Fabric, paper, rugs, etc.
You know what sucks, though? They have a carpeted hallway! I just realized. How much you wanna bet they did it just to prevent vodka water sliding? I guess we could still do it on the stairway but that could get messy.
You know, it's funny. This hall is SO quiet. I thought it'd be noisy, but so far, dead silent. Except for the fact that everytime someone shuts their door or flushes their toilet, you can hear it as clearly as if it were your toilet or your door. That vodka water slide thing needs to happen, like, now.
I have a handful of mirrors like that one too. I've taken to spray painting them [especially the plastic hollow ones] and photo frames like them either black or obnoxiously bright colors [they look awesome grouped together in different shades of yellow and orange]. I wish I had a photo, all that stuffs in storage now :(
I can't remember how you ended up on my flist at this point, probably through some community or another, but I swear every time you post something it sets off all the "yay kindred soul!" bells. You rock. ^__^
Ooh! That's an awesome idea for those frames. I used spray paint on the little metal owl coasters and the medium-sized one that hangs beside the shinier copper/bronze/whatever one. It was fun. Thank you, my dear! I feel the same way. =D

Still though, all it would take would be a lot of plastic sheeting and the hallway would still work!
