I have no idea what these tiny beasts are, but the stepfather found them while he was cutting the grass!

So tiny! I wonder if they are squirrels? Or possums? I hope they are ok! If you put them back where they were found the Mom should come back for them. She probably got scared off by the lawn mower.

Yup! We put them back. We don't have many squirrels in our yard because there are so few trees. I guess they could be possums, though. There are plenty of those in the yard at night.

Heh! Oh, they were alive. They were very still, but I touched one with the end of my pinkie and it rolled over.

My guess is baby moles or something?

I'm also guessing they aren't still alive in that picture... =(

Oh! Yeah, they were alive! He put them back where he found them, too. We went and looked in the spot a couple of hours later and they weren't there. I guess their mother came to move them since there wasn't any tall grass for them to hide in anymore.

*huge breath of relief* Oh, I'm so glad! I'm glad if their mother moved them, too -- they just looked so tiny and helpless.

Yeah, they kind of look like tasty kitty treats, so I'm glad our cats all stay indoors.

OHMYGODIWANTBABIES.

(Whenever I see something newborn and rodent-like my ovaries skip a beat and I wail "...I WANT ANOTHER BAY-BEEEEEEEE!" to R even though we already have three rats-es-es.)

Aw! :D Were your rats babies or adults when you got them?

They were all babies with an exception of Ann (Ann was named after Ann Wilson from Heart, and Faffle was named Nancy although Fuff ended up being the fat one) who was pretty adult when we got her. (Which was one of the reasons, actually, because we felt so bad that NO ONE WANTED HER. POOR ANN!)

Sometimes when I look at Wuzza's BABY PICTURES I get all melty inside and I'm seriously one step away from going "BUT WE HAVE ROOM AND ENDLESS LOVE! LET'S HAVE ANOTHER BABY!" to R.

ZOMG SQUEAKING BABY OTTERS! XD God that was obscenely cute. These creatures didn't squeak, so they lose some adorable points.
