You know, I honestly hope that if she does respond, she says precisely what you just said- "Stephanie, you are crazy, that shit was forever ago, leave it alone." And then I can know that all the bullshit I caused her is now water under the bridge and she looks fondly back on high school with complete and total ambivilence. Is that how you spell ambivilence?

for the record i voted to apologize, simply because a) she feels bad and b) she will be home for 2 weeks and wants to hang out with that friend and not have it be weird.

but i still think it would be hilarious if she's all happy about the apology and you guys make up and then you hang out and realize you can't stand her for wholly other reasons.

I was really mean to this girl in Middle School. My friends and I used to make fun of her all the time, then she got into a car crash in high school and died. It still plagues me that I never said I'm sorry.

It will probably make you feel better, even if it doesn't make her feel better. She might not want to think or talk about it anymore, but there's only one way to find out. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

If nothing else, it will help you put it behind you. If she wants to accept your apology or not, I still think you should do it.

when i was in college i ran into a football player from my high school and out of nowhere he apologized for making fun of me back then. it was huge, because he's the only one (of a number of people) who ever said he was sorry for making my life miserable. it never hurts to apologize.

Thanks Suki. I have this weird image of her crossing me off her "to kill" list when she reads my apology. Oliver told me this situation reminded him of that scene in Billy Madison, and now I cant stop thinking about it.
